"Abolishing the U.S. Department of Education would devastate students across Florida and the nation. It means larger class sizes, fewer resources, and diminished opportunities that disproportionately harm students with disabilities and those from lower-income families — leaving them less prepared for the workforce.

This resolution comes in the wake of the Florida Board of Education’s newly released Social Studies Standards, which include language about how “slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit.”
