Mental Health Resources

If a mental health or substance use challenge is affecting you or someone you know, there are several resources available to learn more or get connected with help. Explore the resources below to learn more. 

If you are in crisis, or you know someone who is, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or dial 911 in case of emergency.

National Resources: 

  • Find Support - The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) provides resources for issues with mental health, drugs, or alcohol.
  • Crisis Text LineThe Crisis Text hotline is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the U.S. It serves anyone in any type of crisis and connects them with a crisis counselor who can provide support and information. Text “HELLO” to 741741. 
  • Veterans Crisis LineThe Veterans Crisis Line is a free, confidential resource that connects veterans with a trained responder 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service is available to all veterans, even if they are not registered with the VA or enrolled in VA healthcare. Call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) and press 1, or text 838255. 
  • National Disaster Distress Helpline—The disaster distress helpline provides immediate crisis counseling for people experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster. The helpline is free, multilingual, confidential, and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call or text 1-800-985-5990. 

Mental Health Helplines: 

  • NAMI HelpLine | NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness is a free nationwide peer-support service providing information, resources, referrals, and support to people living with a mental health condition, their family members and caregivers, mental health providers, and the public. HelpLine staff and volunteers are experienced, well-trained, and able to provide guidance. The NAMI HelpLine can be reached Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. EST. 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) or helpline@nami.org
  • Teen Line: An anonymous, nonjudgmental space for youth | Teen Line Teens can access personal peer-to-peer support from highly trained teens supervised by adult mental health professionals. The Teen Line can be reached at 800-852-8336 Nationwide (6 PM - 10 PM PST) or TEXT TEEN to 839863 (6 PM - 9 PM PST) 
  • Mental Health Warmline: Need to talk to someone? (Warmlines) - MHA ScreeningCall the warmline to have a conversation with someone who can provide support during hard times. Whether you’re in crisis or just need someone to talk to, a warmline can help. Warmlines are staffed by trained peers who have been through their own mental health struggles and know what it’s like to need help. Warmlines are free and confidential. The Clear Warm Line can be reached at 1-800-945-1355. Hours: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM EST every night of the year, including holidays. 

Florida Resources: 

  • MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS INTERVENTION 2-1-1:  211 is a community helpline and crisis hotline that provides suicide prevention, crisis intervention, information, assessment, and referral to community services for people of all ages. We proudly serve; Indian River County, Martin County, Okeechobee County, Palm Beach County, and St. Lucie County. 
  • Hope for Healing - Hope for Healing navigates the many ways Floridians can access help for mental health and substance abuse. 
  • Resiliency and Mental Health - Resources for children provided by the Florida Department of Education. 
  • Mental Health and Substance Abuse—The Florida Department of Children and Families provides crisis support resources to locate verified social service providers for food, housing, transit, healthcare, legal aid, and more. 
  • Children's Mental Health - Coordinated network of community-based services and supports that is family-driven to produce individualized, evidence-based, culturally and linguistically competent outcomes that improve the lives of children and their families.

    A co-occurring disorders drop-in center (all consumers are welcome) offering art programs, social events, and support groups.

    A drop-in center with a focus on the arts as an aid to recovery. Consumers are offered free classes and materials for visual art, clay, ceramics, yoga, creative writing, music, tai chi, support groups, and recovery workshops.

    THE SETH LINE—954-578-5640—operates weekday evenings from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. Weekend hours are planned but not yet regularly scheduled. Voice mail is in operation, and messages will be responded to promptly. Remember, for an emergency or crisis, please call 911. 

Palm Beach County Resources: 

  • Palm Beach County Crisis Intervention Team (CIT:) CIT is a community partnership among law enforcement agencies, the local mental health and substance abuse treatment systems, mental health advocacy groups, and consumers of mental health services and their families. CIT is more than just training. It establishes teams of trained officers within each law enforcement agency to respond effectively to people with mental illnesses, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders who are in crisis. More than 700 law enforcement officers have received this training in Palm Beach County. One should dial 911 and ask for a CIT Officer to respond to the call, possibly diverting the person to a treatment facility rather than to jail. 
  • Mobile Response: Provides emergency intervention, de-escalation, screening, and assessment for individuals in emotional distress. Services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Mobile Crisis will go into the community/home and assess the situation. They may recommend community resources or, if they feel that there is a danger to self or others, they may determine that the individual needs to be Baker Acted. If that is the case, they will call the police to transport the individual to the closest Baker Act receiving hospital.   • CINS/FINS Prevention Services (Children In Need of Services/Families In Need of Services): Call 561-868445 for 24/7 FREE Non-residential Counseling for youth ages 6-17 and their families.  
  • Clinical Services: Individual and Family Counseling (IFC) provides services to children and adults struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges through in-home, at-school, and telehealth counseling. Contact information: 561-868-4300 and email referrals to PB_Clinical_Referrals@chsfl.org  
  • Safe Harbor Shelter Program Respite: Services for youth, ages 10-17, who may be in crisis and need respite-struggling with parents. Counseling is available for families.   • Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach County: Currently has openings for telehealth Therapy services provided through our Reach Program – these services are for any girl residing in Palm Beach County, 8-18 years of age. Contact 561-472-1990 
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) PBC: Can help navigate individuals or loved ones experiencing anxiety, depression, loneliness, or other mental health challenges to mental health support. Individuals can be connected to a resource or therapist if they are insured or uninsured. Resource line: (561) 588-3477. www.namipbc.org 
  • Chrysalis Health: Will be providing mental health, substance use disorder and medical services using secure Telehealth technology to individuals and families on Medicaid benefits. Call 954-587-1008 ext. 1 or visit the website at https://www.chrysalishealth.com/   
  • The Palm Beach & Jupiter Vet Centers: Currently open for Veterans and their families. Meetings with individuals, groups, families and other services are being provided by phone and video. If veterans, both established clients as well as new ones, wish to speak with a counselor or schedule an appointment, please call Jupiter Vet Center 561-422-1220 or Palm Beach Vet Center 561-442-1201.   • The 24-hour hotline for Veterans in distress is 800-273-8255.
