TAMARAC, FL. - Today, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (FL-20) released a statement celebrating President Biden’s announcement that 87,792 PACT Act claims have been awarded in Florida:

“In a historic milestone, President Biden announced that a record 87,792 PACT Act claims have been granted to Florida veterans. I am proud to have fought for the passage of this landmark legislation, which ensures our veterans get the care and benefits they deserve. This is a monumental step forward in honoring our commitment to those who have served.

“I am immensely proud to have championed the passage of the PACT Act, a vital step in delivering benefits and services to veterans who were exposed to toxic substances while serving. This act not only acknowledges the sacrifices made by our servicemembers, but also provides a comprehensive framework for much needed ongoing support. By broadening the scope of covered illnesses and enhancing access to VA resources, the PACT Act reaffirms our unwavering commitment to the heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

“The PACT Act honors our promise to our veterans, reaffirming our dedication to their health and well-being. Through the successful implementation of the PACT Act, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of countless veterans and their families, ensuring they receive the recognition and support they deserve.”
