WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick released the following statement after President Biden announced his budget for FY 2024: 

"This budget is bold, compassionate, and puts working families over politics. President Biden’s budget clarifies that while my colleagues across the aisle embrace extreme measures like cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and possibly defaulting on our debt, Democrats are investing in the American people, especially our seniors and veterans," said Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick. "President Biden’s forward-looking budget lowers costs for families, strengthens Social Security and Medicare, enhances services for veterans, and cuts our budget deficit by $3 trillion over the next ten years—all without raising taxes for everyday Americans. Our priorities are clear, and now is the time for my Republican colleagues to put aside partisan politics and work with us to pass a budget that reinforces America’s promise to our working families and service members. House Republicans should not stand in the way of the government delivering on this promise."
