Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick's Statement on President Trump’s Inauguration

WASHINGTON D.C. - Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick issued the following statement on President Trump’s Inauguration.  

“Today, I joined fellow Americans in witnessing the time-honored tradition of the peaceful transfer of power—an essential pillar of our democracy. As the new administration begins, I remain committed to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to deliver real results for the people of Florida’s 20th District. 

This year’s inauguration theme, Our Enduring Democracy, reminds us that democracy is not just about those in elected office; it’s about all of us. No matter our background or political beliefs, we each have a role to play in shaping our nation’s future. Together, we share the responsibility of standing firm in our values when needed and finding common ground whenever possible. 

I am hopeful for the road ahead and remain dedicated to fighting for the needs of the American people while upholding the principles that make our democracy strong.”
