Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick's Statement on the Mass Firing of VA Employees

Washington, D.C. ─ Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick released the following statement condemning the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) firing of more than 1,000 employees.

“I am appalled by the VA’s decision to fire over 1,000 dedicated employees who have served our veterans and their families,” said Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick. "Cutting costs at the expense of those on the frontlines delivering care to our veterans is not up for debate. The VA must invest in its employees, not fire them. As a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I will be working to hold the Department accountable for these consequential actions.”
