Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick Statement on Iran’s Attack on Israel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick issued the following statement on Iran’s attack on Israel: 

“This weekend, Iran launched a multi-pronged attack against our ally, Israel. As President Biden has said, the United States stands with Israel as she defends herself from any Iranian threat. I am glad that American investments in defensive technology, such as Iron Dome and David’s Sling, saved countless lives. 

These attacks also underscore the urgent need to help our allies in Ukraine as well. The same Iranian drones that have attacked Israel are also being used by Putin in Ukraine. The threat to our democratic allies is growing. I call on Speaker Johnson to bring the security supplemental aid package to the house floor right away. Time is of the essence for our allies and it is time to reassert American leadership on the global stage.”
