Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick Statement on the House Passage of the NDAA

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) issued the following statement on the House passage of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA):
"It has been frustrating to watch House Republicans jeopardize America’s national security, waging pitiful culture wars that undermine our nation’s credibility on the world stage. This year’s defense bill has been stuffed with divisive right-wing amendments, including those that weaken servicemembers’ ability to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions and receive gender-affirming care. While I had hoped to vote ‘yes’ on what has long been a non-controversial package, MAGA extremists made it impossible to do so.”
