Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick Issues Statement on the Election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House

Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick released the following statement in response to the Election of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House:

"I congratulate Rep. McCarthy on his election as the 55th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives."
 
"As elected representatives, we must put partisan differences aside, find common ground, and work together for the good of the American people," said Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick. "Regardless of the challenges ahead, Democrats are united and ready to work on behalf of all Americans—not just a few."
