July 19, 2023

POMPANO BEACH, FL – This week, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) joined the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the City of Pompano Beach to announce $15.4 million in funding under the Railroad Crossing Elimination Grant Program.

“President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is saving lives,” said Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL). “This $15.4 million in funding will increase safety at Broward County railroad crossings and reduce deadly collisions that our communities have come to see too often. In Washington, I will remain a strong supporter of this project and fight every day to make sure that federal dollars come into FL-20.”

"We’re so pleased to have Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick's support in Washington and at home,” said Broward MPO Executive Director Gregory Stuart. “This grant will save lives and make our great region even better for millions who live here and visit.”

The ceremony also announced the completion of the $21 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant and included a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new $5.8 million state-of-the-art Senior Activity Center.
