Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick Announces Community Project Funding Application Deadline

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Cherfilus-McCormick announced the submission deadline for the Fiscal Year 2025 Community Project Funding (CPF) requests.
The deadline for submitting project requests is Friday, April 26th, at 3:00 p.m. The application form, funding availability, and instructions on how to submit requests can be found on the website here.
Rep Cherfilus-McCormick’s announcement comes the same day that the House Appropriations Committee released guidance and member deadlines for FY2025 CPF requests. Early last month, the Congresswoman opened the application submission portal, citing guidance from the FY2024 process.
The House Committee on Appropriations instituted new eligibility requirements for FY25. Only governmental entities and public institutions of higher education will be eligible for projects under the T-HUD Economic Development Initiatives program. Memorials, museums, and commemoratives (i.e., projects named for an individual or entity) are not eligible for Community Project Funding. The subcommittees’ requirements can be found here.
Late or incomplete applications, including applications that do not provide the information required by the relevant subcommittee, will not be considered, and the project must be in the 20th District of Florida.
An application consists of all the information about the entity and project required by the applicable subcommittee, as well as the following:
Name of the recipient.
Address of the recipient.
Amount of the request.
Explanation of the request, including purpose, and a justification for why it is an appropriate use of taxpayer funds.
Evidence of community support.
If on behalf of a non-profit, provide evidence the entity is a non-profit organization as described under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, and evidence non-profit’s work is primarily focused on our district.
The Appropriations Committee is only permitting certain programs within specific subcommittees that are going to participate in the earmark process, listed below.
